...to Ethiopia

Hmmm it is true. After 3 months in South Sudan ...it's my time for holidays. At the beginning i was about to go again to Uganda, cause i feel like i'm in home...but my friends there were soooo busy so the next alternative was Ethiopia....
I've heard so many for this country.
About its history....the connection with the christianity and the orthodox....the monuments the landscapes....everything.
So....here i am.
In Addis Ababa.
Staying at the hotel Taitu..... the first building of the city. Yes....it is very old.
And still staying old even if they try to keep i alive.
Well it is my first day here in Ethiopia....and i don't have to write a lot....so ....to be continued.....

....and then i'm happy

...yep, now i'm happy because finally i'll stay more in South Sudan and in Raja. This is what i wanted. Ok, at the beginning they told me no ....then i prepare myself to go back home....and then they told me yes ....and then once more i had to prepare my self to stay....that was quite frustrating but ....i did what i wanted to do. so...i'm fine. Plus.....i'm going to Wau for some days (around 10) and this is very interesting because i've got some good friends there....and i'm gonna make more.

that's all folks

That's all.
I hope i'll have better news in the near future.

...the airstrip

Usually the airport air strip is only for airplanes......
not always!
Our airstrip apart from welcoming the Cessna Caravan twice a week is being used for plenty of activities.
Like.... the perfect place for the new drivers driving courses. Openspace....huge...flat ...safe. So the new drivers coming and testing their skills.
Airstrip also is perfect for football (soccer)...especially for the kids. Men are having their own football filed. From time to time you can see kids trying to score in an imaginary goalpost at the end of the airstrip.
If there are no kids around.....goats are.!!
Yes they  like to go around the airstrip and picking the best grass they can have.
And finally....we ....i mean some guys who start running at the airstrip. Why not.
It's good for our health for 2 reasons.
First because running and working out makes you healthy...
and second....while we are running across the airstrip we are checking it out.
Do you remember what i was telling you some months ago? During the rainy season we were checking the airstrip if it was in perfect condition for a plane to land. So ....we are doing it also in the dry season...so what!
This is the story of our airstrip.....
and we like our airstrip a lot.....it is the place we say goodbye to our friends when they are ending their missions....or when they are going for holidays ....it is the same place we say welcome when they coming back.....it's the place we receive all our goodies from the capital ....and finally.....it is our the only way to go out of this place

See you guys at the airstrip.....we are ready to fly.

Panashiba

Who said that in Africa we are not using the state of the art technology? Not only that....but we are using the best blend of the technology....like our batteries.....Panashiba......

Our Chinese friends combine all the advantages of the Panasonic and Toshiba batteries and they offer us this smashing bloody brilliant battery who lasts only few minutes.
Enjoy it.Power to the people.

Flying rat?

Yeah, you have seen flying rats in Disneys movies but there were animated rats not real. Well, we were fastened well, the plane was taxing and we were almost ready to take off when the rat appeared. Calm , cool and not scary. All brought our knees to chest to let it pass. And it passed. The air attendant with a  broom in her hands was trying to kill it but with no luck. We had two options. Stay in Juba airport to kill the rat...or took it with us to Wau. Pilot choose the second. Now we are 30000 feet high together with a rat. We all paid for our flight....it didn't. The air attendant tried to kill it twice during the flight....but it was faster than her. We had fun anyway. It wasn't an ordinary flight after all.....yes,  how many of you all guys have ever fly with a rat next to your feet? Have you ever see a rat in 30000 feet high? Have you ever seen an attendant with a push broom to hunting a rat under the seats?Have you ever seen all airplane passengers to looking under the seats a bit scary? So...it was a really interesting flight. Thank you WFP for this nice adventure. I'm sure.... rat is said the same.
Well now...if someone ask you "Are flying rat exists?" ....you know the answer....... "Yep .....and it is flying high"
